    After an exceptionally dry but not hot season, Church Road enthused: “Thirteen looks like it may be a lucky number for Hawke’s Bay.” Trinity Hill agreed, declaring that its red-wine highlight in 2013 was syrah – the grape the Aussies call shiraz. Church Road Grand Reserve Hawke’s Bay Syrah 2013 (5/5 stars) This dark, beautifully scented, supple red was grown in the Bridge Pa Triangle.
