Hawke’s Bay’s 2013 harvest produced some excellent examples.

After an exceptionally dry but not hot season, Church Road enthused: “Thirteen looks like it may be a lucky number for Hawke’s Bay.” Trinity Hill agreed, declaring that its red-wine highlight in 2013 was syrah – the grape the Aussies call shiraz.
