Do we underestimate the quality of many wines, sold in supermarkets under household name brands? One of the country’s biggest producers told me recently that their wine has won more top accolades in competitions than any of its rivals but, because it’s hugely popular and very low-priced, even those who buy and drink it frequently don’t understand its high quality. Many wine lovers tell me that they prefer to spend less than $15 on wines for everyday consumption, given all their other expenses – and fair enough. What’s your favourite under $15 wine?
